Now, there is a new chapter: the first HERR LUTZ shirt shop is live at www.herr-lutz.com/shirts
And honestly, this does not feel like a random add-on at all. It feels much more like going back to the roots — only sharper, clearer, and with better timing. In many ways, this new shop brings together several parts of my background: my long-standing connection to clothing and merchandise, my love for tattoo culture, my experience with my own brand Kiezkicker, and my professional life in spirits, hospitality, and brand-building.

Where it really comes from
Long before all the drinks work, I was already drawn to clothing, graphics, merchandise, and attitude.
That interest did not come out of nowhere. It has been with me for a very long time and is closely connected to the subcultures and scenes that shaped me early on. So launching a shirt shop today is not about jumping on a trend or suddenly trying something completely new. It is more about reconnecting the dots between things that have been part of my life for decades.
Merchandise and clothing have been around me since the early 2000s, and I have always liked the idea that what you wear can communicate something before you even say a word. Good merchandise is never just a product. When done right, it becomes part of identity, taste, and attitude.
That connection has also existed on a brand level for years: I founded Kiezkicker and still run it today. So clothing and merchandise have never been a side topic for me. They have been part of how I think about culture, identity, and branding for a long time. That is exactly why the HERR LUTZ shirt shop feels less like a new direction and more like a natural continuation.

Tattoo culture, identity and clothing
A big part of that mindset comes from tattoo culture.
It is the subculture I have been connected to all my life, with real friendships and a network around the world. And if you have spent enough time around that world, you know that clothing was never just clothing. It was always part of the code. Part of the identity. Part of how people expressed belonging, personal style, and a certain edge without having to explain themselves too much.
That had a lasting influence on me.
Tattoo culture taught me early on how closely aesthetics, symbolism, attitude, and visual identity are connected. It shaped the way I look at design, merchandise, and the idea of wearable culture. In that sense, the HERR LUTZ shirt shop is not some disconnected side idea. It is rooted in something personal and long-established.
Why the shirt shop fits HERR LUTZ so well
Over the years, I built my professional life around spirits, brands, storytelling, education, events, and hospitality.
At the same time, I have always been drawn to the culture around it: bars, late nights, good design, strong characters, subculture, aesthetics, and the details that create atmosphere.
That is exactly where the shirt shop fits in.
It sits at the intersection of what I do professionally and what I have always genuinely liked on a personal level. The designs are inspired by bar culture, tattoo aesthetics, drinks culture, and a lifestyle shaped by spirits, craft beer, cocktails, hospitality, and identity.
This is why the shop feels natural to me. It is not separate from HERR LUTZ. It is a wearable extension of it.

More than merch
The shop is not meant to be just another collection of random products.
Not as random merch.
Not as a fashion project.
But as a wearable extension of everything HERR LUTZ already stands for.
Still niche. Still personal. Still shaped by subculture. Just wearable now.
That is probably the best way to sum it up.
For me, this is also part of building something independently and allowing it to grow in a way that feels authentic. If you build a platform over time, passion is essential — but developing additional ways to support and monetize that platform matters too. The key is doing it in a way that stays true to the brand and to your own story.
The shirt shop does exactly that for me.

If you are curious, want to support the project, or simply want to see what happens when drinks culture, tattoo influence, years of personal history, and experience with brands like Kiezkicker come together in shirt form, have a look at the shop here:
And of course, I would genuinely love to know which design is your favorite.
